It is the evening before the class show, and Yixue is the host with a perfect order of items. You will watch the plan fall apart on Friday night, until Annie steps on stage with a story.

晚会的节目太多了，从七点开始，要到十点才结束。
The show has so many items that it starts at seven and doesn't end until ten.

He wasn't worried at all while he performed, and everyone watched him.
一般来说，晚会都从七点开始，十点结束。
Generally speaking, shows start at seven and end at ten.
我一般坐地铁去上班，下雨的时候才开车。
I usually take the subway to work and drive only when it rains.
他喜欢听音乐，一听就想跳舞。
He likes listening to music, and as soon as he hears it he wants to dance.
这个故事我听过三遍，可是每次都觉得有意思。
I've heard this story three times, but I find it interesting every time.
Part 3 · 4 conversations
The evening before the class show, Yixue, the host, goes through the order of items in the school hall. Jiayue has a place, but Annie's name is missing.
王一雪Wang Yixue
明天晚上的节目，我都写好了：第一个是唱歌，第二个是白家月的音乐。
I've written out tomorrow night's items: first is singing, second is Jiayue's music.
白家月Bai Jiayue
第二个是我！我练了三个星期了。
你的声音真好听，应该去唱歌。
Your voice is lovely; you should go sing.
那位名人在电视上很有名，可是路上很多人不认得他。
That famous person is well known on TV, but lots of people on the street don't recognize him.
The second one is me! I've been practicing for three weeks.
王一雪Wang Yixue
最后一个是王老师以前的学生，一个名人。
And the last one is Teacher Wang's former student, a famous person.
安妮Annie
那我呢？我的名字不在本子上。
What about me? My name isn't in your notebook.
王一雪Wang Yixue
你不是说你只想看吗？
Didn't you say you only wanted to watch?
安妮Annie
我也想表演！我什么都可以，唱歌也行。
I want to perform too! Anything will do, even singing.
王一雪Wang Yixue
已经有五个节目了，本子上写不下了。
There are already five items, and there's no room to write more in my notebook.
On Friday evening, just before the show, Teacher Wang gets bad news. Liu Ming adds one more problem.
王老师Teacher Wang
一雪，我刚接到电话，那位名人今天来不了。
Yixue, I just got a call, and our famous guest can't come today.
王一雪Wang Yixue
什么？他是今天最后一个节目！
What? He's the last item tonight!
王老师Teacher Wang
对，他是我以前的学生，唱歌唱得好。名人都很忙啊。
Yes, he's my former student and sings well. Famous people are always busy.
刘明Liu Ming
老师，一雪，还有一件事：这儿的声音太小了，后面的人听不见。
Teacher, Yixue, one more thing: the sound here is too low, and the people at the back can't hear.
王一雪Wang Yixue
怎么办？我的本子上每个节目都写好了！
What do we do? Every item is written down in my notebook!
王老师Teacher Wang
别着急。一般来说，晚会总会出点儿问题。我们要找人表演十分钟。
Don't worry. Generally speaking, a show always has some problem. We need someone to perform for ten minutes.
刘明Liu Ming
十分钟？我们去哪儿找人？
Ten minutes? Where do we find someone?
Annie hears the problem and raises her hand. She half remembers a story that Teacher Wang told in class, and Jiayue offers her music.
安妮Annie
我来！我给大家讲一个故事。
Me! I'll tell everybody a story.
王一雪Wang Yixue
汉语的故事？
A Chinese story?
安妮Annie
对，王老师讲过的那个，我记得一半。
Yes, the one Teacher Wang told us. I remember half.
白家月Bai Jiayue
我来放音乐，这样你不会那么着急。
I'll play some music so you won't be so worried.
王老师Teacher Wang
安妮，你上去吧，说错了也没关系。
Annie, go on up. It's fine if you make mistakes.
安妮Annie
真的吗？
Really?
王一雪Wang Yixue
你快去！大家都等着呢。
Go on! Everyone's waiting.
Annie tells her story and mixes up two words. The hall laughs louder than for any other item.
王一雪Wang Yixue
下面是安妮的节目：一个故事。
Next is Annie's item: a story.
安妮Annie
以前有一个小孩儿，他每天骑着妈妈去上学。
Once there was a kid who rode his mom to school every day.
王一雪Wang Yixue
安妮！是马！
Annie! It's a horse!
安妮Annie
啊？对不起，是马。他骑着马去上学，妈妈在家做饭。
Oh? Sorry, a horse. He rode a horse to school and his mom made dinner at home.
白家月Bai Jiayue
我笑得放错音乐了！
I'm laughing so hard I played the wrong music!
王一雪Wang Yixue
大家笑得比哪个节目都大声。
Everyone is laughing louder than for any other item.
安妮Annie
那我的节目是最好的节目了吧？
So mine was the best item, wasn't it?
