Part 3 · 4 conversations
On Monday morning Annie brings her homework to Teacher Wang's office. Teacher Wang tells her that she has meetings on all five working days.
安妮Annie
王老师，早！作业我带来了，放在哪儿？
Good morning, Teacher Wang! I've brought my homework. Where should I put it?
王老师Teacher Wang
放桌子上吧，谢谢。我这个星期太忙了，五个工作日都要开会。
Put it on the desk, thanks. I'm so busy this week. I have meetings on all five working days.

Yes. This morning I have the exam meeting first, and this afternoon the teachers' meeting. Thursday's meeting is the longest.
安妮Annie
那小东怎么办？谁去接他？
What about Xiaodong, then? Who picks him up?
王老师Teacher Wang
我自己去。可是星期四的会议太长，我有点儿担心。
I'll go myself. But Thursday's meeting is so long that I'm a bit worried.
安妮Annie
要是您没有时间，我去学校接他吧。
If you don't have time, I'll pick him up from school.
Yixue works part-time for Teacher Wang and has sorted the pile of mail on the desk. Annie has a letter to post as well.

王老师，今天的邮件我都看了：三封信，两封是给您的。
Teacher Wang, I've looked through today's mail: three letters, two of them for you.
王老师Teacher Wang
好，放这儿吧。一雪，请再给我一张纸，我要给小东的学校写封信。
Okay, put them here. Yixue, please give me a sheet of paper too. I need to write a letter to Xiaodong's school.

纸只有四张，您都拿去吧，写错了就没有了！
There are only four sheets, so take them all, and when you make a mistake there's no more!
安妮Annie
对了，王老师，我也有一封信，是给我妈妈的。
Oh, Teacher Wang, I have a letter too, for my mother.

Then I'll write slowly! With you two helping me, I feel much more at ease.
On Tuesday afternoon Xiaodong comes to his mother's office after school. For tomorrow's class project he needs a pencil and an old newspaper.
小东Xiaodong
妈妈，我们班明天要做校园新闻，我需要铅笔和报纸。
Mom, our class is making a campus-news project tomorrow, and I need a pencil and a newspaper.
王老师Teacher Wang
铅笔在桌子上，报纸在那边。你先坐下，慢慢找。

On Thursday the long meeting is still going and it has started to snow. Annie has already picked up Xiaodong, and they wait at the school gate. Teacher Wang finally arrives.
小东Xiaodong
安妮姐姐，妈妈的会议什么时候结束？我饿了。
Annie, when does Mom's meeting end? I'm hungry.
安妮Annie
她打电话说，快结束了。来，吃个苹果吧。
She phoned to say it's almost over. Here, have an apple.

下雪了，好冷！
It's snowing, it's freezing!
安妮Annie
把你的书包给我拿着，报纸放在头上，雪就不会下到头发上了。
Give me your school bag to hold, and put the newspaper over your head, so the snow won't get in your hair.
